Machine Learning for Business Intelligence
Machine Learning for Business Intelligence sits at the intersection of two disciplines that often miss each other: the technical depth of machine learning and the commercial focus of business intelligence. The one-day course gives BI analysts, managers and data-curious leaders a working understanding of how ML actually delivers value in a BI context — and where it doesn't.
Course overview.
No prior ML experience is required. We focus on the decision frameworks (when does ML help, when does a SQL query do the job?), the architectural patterns (how does ML actually plug into a BI stack?), and the implementation realities (data quality, model monitoring, business adoption). By the end of the day you'll know what to commission, what to question, and what to leave well alone.
Who it's for.
Business intelligence analysts, data engineers, BI managers, heads of data, and senior leaders responsible for analytics capability. Also useful for product managers and consultants who need to assess ML-powered BI proposals without being mathematicians.
What you'll learn.
When ML earns its keep in BI
The decision framework: forecasting, segmentation, anomaly detection, recommendation, natural-language interfaces — and the questions to ask before you commit a team to any of them. Real examples of ML projects that paid off and ones that quietly didn't.
From dashboard to model
How an ML capability actually integrates with an existing BI stack — data pipelines, feature stores, model serving, monitoring. The architectural patterns that turn ML from a research-team experiment into a production capability the business actually uses.
Adoption, governance and what can go wrong
ML in BI is mostly a people problem dressed up as a technical one. We close with the governance frameworks, bias-monitoring practices and stakeholder engagement disciplines that determine whether ML-powered BI is trusted enough to be acted on.
