Course overview.
Hands-on throughout, working from real briefs — an inspection-capture app, an asset-tracking system, a service-request portal. By the end of day two you'll have built and deployed working apps, and you'll know which build pattern to reach for given a fresh business problem.
Who it's for.
IT professionals, business analysts, process owners and citizen developers ready to move past Excel-as-an-app. Particularly useful for organisations with Microsoft 365 licensing where Power Apps is included but underused, and for IT teams wanting to enable rather than block business-led app development.
What you'll learn.
Canvas apps — the design-first build
Day one covers canvas apps end-to-end: connecting to SharePoint, SQL and Dataverse, building responsive screens, designing for mobile and desktop, applying Power Fx formulas, and the deployment, sharing and version-control disciplines that distinguish hobbyist apps from production ones.
Model-driven apps and Dataverse
When canvas apps stop scaling, model-driven apps take over. We cover Dataverse table design, relationships, business process flows, security roles and the model-driven UI generation that lets you build complex business apps with a fraction of the code.
Governance, ALM and the citizen-IT bridge
The governance frameworks that prevent Power Apps from becoming the shadow IT of the 2020s. Environments, solutions, deployment pipelines, data-loss-prevention policies, and the citizen-developer-to-IT handover patterns that mature organisations rely on.
